Workshops

Kaydee Puppets offers a variety of workshops for schools, scouts, group parties/picnics as well as for adults. Have fun with puppets, learn to be a puppeteer, and discover how puppets can be a great teaching (and learning) tool in the classroom or library story time!

Kaydee's Workshops in Puppetery can be geared either for teachers or for children, 1st grade and older.

Puppet Manipulation

This is a 45-minute, fast-paced demonstration of the tricks and techniques of making puppets come alive. Lots of audience participation. Everyone gets the opportunity to go behind stage and act! Students learn how to work the puppets, improvise, and use humor to entertain their fellow students.

Cost is $150 per hour for up to 12 students. Additional students are $15 each. Puppets, props and stage are provided for the workshop. Book now or get more information.

Shadow Puppets

This is a 60-minute program on how to make and use shadow puppets. The program is designed so that the students learn to tell a story using shadow puppets. Following a brief demonstration, the students design their own puppets and then perform.

Cost is $225 for up to 15 students. Additional students are $12 each. Maximum of 30 students. Requires teacher helpers and supplies (i.e. scissors and pencils). Book now or get more information.

Puppets Add Punch

This is a delightful two-hour workshop designed for teachers and librarians. Explore the many facets of puppetry. Puppets can enrich any type of learning experience (children retain over 50 percent). Provides practical ideas, immediate application, live demos with lots of hands-on practice with oodles of simple puppets students can make.

Cost is $450 for up to 25 participants. Additional participants are $15 per person. Materials supplied as needed. Book now or get more information.

Kaydee Puppets has Puppet People Kits available for purchase. Each kit offers complete how-to instructions, plus all the necessary equipment to get you on the road doing your own puppet shows! Contact us for more information and price.

Each kit contains:

Portable 8 foot stage
All poles, backdrop, scrim, curtains, etc.
A week of training in the Kaydee area (you provide room/board and transportation)
Comment sheets (supplemental information for customers)
